The Mintz Family Scholarship in Policy Excellence
As the founding Director of the School of Public Policy and first James S. and Barbara A. Palmer Chair in Public Policy, Dr. Jack Mintz set a standard of excellence for the foundation of Canada’s leading policy school. In recognition of his dedication to the School and his impact on public policy in Canada, “The Mintz Family Scholarship in Policy Excellence” has been created to assist future Master of Public Policy students with tuition support.

Master of Science in Sustainable Energy Development (SEDV) Scholarship Fund
The University of Calgary’s Master of Science in Sustainable Energy Development (SEDV) is an interdisciplinary graduate program providing a balanced education related to energy and environmental management. A combined offering through the School of Public Policy, Haskayne School of Business, Schulich School of Engineering, School of Architecture, Planning, and Landscape, and the Faculty of Law, SEDV is an unprecedented program designed for professionals and students who are seeking a broad-based and comprehensive education in sustainable energy.
Distinguished Policy Fellow Scholarship Fund
Each year, the University of Calgary’s School of Public Policy bestows Distinguished Policy Fellow awards to eminent individuals who are committed to Canada’s betterment through their leadership and support of the School of Public Policy. The Distinguished Policy Fellowship is the highest honour given by the School of Public Policy. Since its inception in 2017, proceeds from the Distinguished Policy Fellow awards dinner have funded numerous scholarships to deserving graduate students.

Donating publicly traded stocks and securities to the School of Public Policy holds many benefits that include:
- Receiving a tax receipt for the full, fair market value of the shares valued at the closing price on the day the securities are transferred
- Receiving a zero capital gain inclusion rate when eligible stock or securities are directly transferred to the University
- Providing financial support that will enrich programs and student experiences at the School

Bequests
A planned gift, known as a bequest in your Will, provides you with the opportunity to support the School of Public Policy once your needs and the needs of your loved ones have been met.
Your donation through a planned gift can be a specific dollar amount or item, or a residual amount like a percentage or share of your estate.
A bequest can reduce the taxes owed by your estate. As well, bequests are revocable and can be modified if your financial situation changes over time.
